Crop Mob harvest day.

Harvest volunteers
needed to dig garlic on
Sunday July 15 starting at 8 am
People who are interested in coming to the farm to experience the harvesting of garlic can join in as part of a 'crop mob' . No prior experience required, no farming background is needed, no diploma nor degree is essential. Just good attitude, willingness to work hard, and ability to follow instructions is all that is required.

The garlic harvest must occur very quickly, within 2 weeks. If the garlic is too long in the ground and the season is rainy then the bulbs are compromised. I can't dig, clean and hang 15,000 garlic by myself. So.....I heard about Ecological Farmers of Ontario "crop mob' and thought what a great idea! Not only can I share knowledge with garlic enthusiast, but can harness the help from them in return. Its a win-win situation.

A brown bag lunch is fine, but if you want to share a dish that is ok too. I will have some goodies to share with you. I am looking at about a 6 to 8 people "mob", and you don’t have to know each other prior to the harvest, we will get to know each other then. Pass the word along, and let me know if you are coming.

Hat, gloves, water jugs, lunch, chairs, garden fork and favourite clippers and stamina. For more details, email me, Elly at railwaycreek@gmail.com.
